Effervo Effervo is an interactive particle system, created using C++, Openframeworks, OpenGL and OpenNI library. A 3d camera is positioned in a room to detect to the presence of people once they enter the installation with the resultant video being played at the front of the room.
Effervo runs in real time and creates tens of thousands of small particles which individually react to a 3d model of a user that is standing within the installation with the particles moving organically around the user giving shape to their virtual 3d form. The movement was based on mimicking natural motion such as falling, swarming, expanding from a source through the use of mathematical algorithms. The 3d model of the user was generated using an Xbox kinect and the OpenNI library which enabled the tracking of a user within 3d space.
This installation has featured at the following events:
PauseFest, Melbourne, Australia, November 2011 Weismann Museum Party, Minneapolis, USA, January 2012
